HISTORY OF A MYTHICAL SHIP: SWIFT
The Swift was an early 19th century Virginia pilot boat, the predecessor of the famouse "Baltimore Clipper". Pilot boats typically sailed off-shore, meeting up with incoming ships to which they would transfer a pilot to safely guide the ship to safe harbor. This was a competitive industry, requiring the boats to be fast so that they could be first to the incoming ships.
This kit features wooden plank-on-bulkhead construction. It's simple rig and hull form make for easy construction.
