Details

Built in 1834 in England and placed in the service of the navy of Sardinia in 1835 that Gulnara is a typical example of the transition from Sailboat for steamboat. The steam engine was to be regarded as pure auxiliary drive in this vessel. The ship was still full segelbar. As observation, escort and passenger ship did the Gulnara service for Sardinia until 1861. Then it was taken over by the Italian navy. The Gulnara was equipped with an oscillating steam engine company Fawcett & Preston, Liverpool. A portion of the vanes could be at ride swirled under sail, to reduce the running resistance.

The model kit of Gulnara is designed so that construction difficulties could be largely avoided. Thus, a kit is created, which can be built both successfully by novices without any problems, as well as the experienced modeler offers many fine details.

This is a big wooden ship model kit.
