Historic wooden model ship kit by Mantua / Sergal. The lateen rigged xebecs were well known in the Mediterranean, particular in their use by Algerian and other pirates on the Barbary Coast.
This beautiful wooden ship model kit features plank on bulkhead construction. Includes wood and metal fittings, rigging line, flags, wooden masts and spars.

Not having built a model ship before, I didn’t want to jump into a huge complex project, I had heard many stories of people who never finish their 2000 piece Spanish Galleon as they did not know what they were getting into. So, I chose the Sciabecco Francese as my first challenge, I’m glad I went through the ship building learning curve on this doable and attractive model, where I learned all the skills needed to progress to the big ones.
