Gondola, the Jewel of Venice
Inseparably linked to the city of Venice, of which it is the most famous symbol, the gondola is the most famous boat in the world, the most elegant and the most sophis- ticated and, due to its characteristics of manoeuvrability and speed, it was the Venetian boat best adapted to the transport of persons before the advent of the motorised craft.
The gondola is completely painted in black, a colour requested by a decree of the Magistrate of the Pomp (16th century) intended to limit the excessive luxury used by the noble and rich to adorn their own boats.
Kit includes wooden hull with laser cut frames, floor and hull planks, photo-etched decorations and stern irons, resin fork, cast metal lantern, and fabric for the seat cushions. Also includes a wooden display stand. Step-by-step instructions and parts list provided in english.
