The revenue cutter Alert was used on the coasts of the United States to prosecute smugglers. For this reason, it was equipped with a large sail area and a wedge-shaped deep keel to be able to sail upwind faster and higher. Amidships on deck, the alert is equipped with a rotatable carronade with all accessories, which is a very nice historical insight into the former work on board.

This wooden ship model kit is relatively simple in its construction, but contains a lot of interesting details, so that one can make a real museum piece.

This is a large scale kit that lends itself well to detailing by experienced ship modelers, but also easy construction which is good for beginning ship modelers as well.
